Reading

I am currently reading The King of Lies by John Hart. What I like about it is that the lead character has gone through a psychological/emotional change. He is learning to navigate the insight that he has gained.

Otherwise the beginning is a little awkward because he tries too hard to set up the scene. His language in descriptions is too precise. Another words, he is using a better vocabulary than he needs to get his ideas across.

John Hart is a new author though. This is his first book.

Weekend

We bowled for the first time in more than ten years. I actually got six gutter balls in a row. The Missus was winning, so she made a bet. Whoever loses walks the dog for a week. She lost both games. The bowling was up in Pearl River.

We got lost driving somehow, and wound up on 6 East which took us to Seven Lakes Drive in Harriman State Park, so we hiked for awhile.

The forest has always struck me in the same way, beautiful and quiet. This was the first time I was in the forest hiking, since my accident where I slipped, and my forehead hit a rock.

We tried to get to the discount mall – Woodbury Commons, but traffic was too heavy, it looked like a religious procession to a shrine, so we decided to go another time.
