According to today’s New York Times, there have been an average of 960 attacks against Americans and Iraqis per week, from early August to early November. This is not what we read in the papers. The enemy has been able to sustain a high level of attacks for months. This is not an occasional suicide bomber. I can hardly accept such a high number. I can see why Bush wants more troops, but I also think that this is a determined enemy who will not stop attacking us. We need to leave. If we choose not to take the battle to the enemy instead of continuing to fight a defensive war, we are doomed.
